Angela Amato has had many years of experience as an artist. She has worked as Artist-in-Residence as a teaching artist in collaboration with The George Eastman Museum and the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester New York. She has won numerous awards and grants. The New York's Governor Award and the Kennedy Center Award were awarded to her in collaboration with other artists for their work with Project U.N.I.Q.U.E., an intercultural arts program. She was granted the Wallace Memorial Library Award.

She was also merited with the Artist's Project Award by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Wilmot Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation. The Alex Gallery represents some of her work in Washington D.C. Presently Angela keeps a studio in Upstate New York where she works on large abstract paintings, as well as her Tuscany painting series exhibited here.
